What is the difference between a paperless inspection and a digital checklist?
They are two sides of the same move, but they are not identical. A digital checklist is the form itself, a template with questions, logic, and required fields that lives in an app. A paperless inspection is the outcome of using that tool for a whole check, so that no paper is involved at any stage from capture to storage. You can have a digital checklist and still print it, which is not paperless, and going paperless without a well-built checklist just moves a bad form onto a screen. The value comes from combining them: a good digital checklist used end to end on a device is what actually removes the delay and re-keying that paper causes.
